Mr Srirangam qualified from Manchester University Medical School in 1997 and undertook much of his surgical and urological training in Lancashire and Greater Manchester having first developed an interest in urology when he first worked in Blackburn in 1999.

He undertook a European School of Urology Fellowship in the management of kidney stone disease and endourology at the University Hospital Leuven, Belgium in 2008.

He has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust since 2009. Apart from undertaking all aspects of general urology, he has specialist expertise in the management of kidney stone disease.

Mr Srirangam is actively involved in clinical research and is the principal investigator of a number of local and national multicentre research studies mainly focussing on kidney stone problems and prostate and bladder cancer. Additionally, he is a supervisor for junior doctors in training and helps co-ordinate the urology training of medical students from Lancaster, UCLan and the American University of the Caribbean.

Away from the NHS, he provides a ‘taxi service’ for his teenage children which keeps him very busy.
