Background

Miss Naseem Ghazali is dually-qualified in dentistry and medicine. She completed her maxillofacial surgery training in London (Eastman Dental Hospital/UCL, King’s College and Guy’s Hospitals), Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.

Miss Ghazali undertook a clinical research fellowship in head and neck oncology at Aintree University Hospitals, Liverpool, and completed a surgical fellowship in head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery at University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Research interests

Miss Ghazali is the Research and Development Lead of the Maxillofacial Department at ELHT. Her research interest is in head and neck cancer, particularly outcomes research, i.e. functional and quality of life outcomes. Miss Ghazali has received research grants for this area of work. She is widely published with over 35 peer-reviewed papers and book chapter. She has been an invited speaker at several international surgical meetings.

Future areas of research include trans-oral robot surgery and oral precancer/dysplasia.
