Professor Teh qualified at Aberdeen University in Scotland, July 1984 and has been at ELHT since July 1996. She gained the title of Honorary Clinical Professor from the  University of Central Lancashire  in 2018.

Areas of Special interest: Lupus especially assessment of Health-related Quality of Life in Lupus. She is a member of the national British Isle Lupus Assessment Group (BILAG). She is research lead in Rheumatology, collaborating nationally with other centers to undertake studies. She has published widely and also is reviewer for many international journals. She is education lead in rheumatology and is involved in both in-house post graduate and undergraduate teaching (for American University of Caribbean) and external teaching including University of Manchester (MSc connective tissue disease module).  Professor Teh is the local audit lead and participates and leads  local, regional and national audits.

Outside interests: Professor Teh goes to the gym 3 to 4 times a week and regularly attends church. She enjoys reading books and listening to talking books, watching Coronation Street, Call the midwife, Dr Who and TV crime drama. She supports Manchester United Football team, and enjoys watching tennis, going to the theatre, learning mandarin, eating out, cooking, travelling and spoiling two great nephews and one great niece all under 5 years old.
