Library

The education directorate facilities are open to staff from local healthcare organisations via external membership.

The Trust’s library services are open to all ELHT staff and students on placement, whatever their grade or discipline.  Our online library, the ELHT Evidence Hub, offers quick access to resources and best evidence to all staff on whatever site they are based, and gives a comprehensive list of our services.

Both the learning centres and libraries enable staff to have quiet time and access to a range of resources both for learning and development and personal health and well-being. We provide access to a range of books, journals, databases and electronic resources to inform evidence-based patient care, education and personal development.  We offer ‘hot-desking’, computer, printing, study and document supply facilities. Training sessions covering evidence-based literature searching are also available, and can be delivered within hospital departments or on community sites. Literature searches to support best practice and service development can be arranged through our Clinical Outreach service. Our library facilities are also open to staff of local healthcare organisations via External Membership.

The Learning Hub system enables Trust staff to have an accessible, personal and professional portfolio, capturing attendance and compliance with training requirements.   This supports both personal and professional development and registration requirements.

Your Learning Journey at ELHT will commence at Trust Induction.  For further details regarding our Corporate Trust Induction Programme, visit our Induction Welcome Lounge http://www.elht.nhs.uk/work-for-us/welcome-to-elht.htm.  All training and development opportunities for staff are advertised via the Learning Hub, an electronic platform enabling staff to easily enrol on courses.
