We provide high quality healthcare services primarily to the residents of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, which have a combined population in the region of 530,000.
The Department of Health has placed a legal responsibility on every NHS Trust to identify and charge all Overseas Visitors using our services.
Preceding a new course of treatment there is a requirement to establish if a patient is eligible to free NHS treatment and in this respect all patients are asked if they are permanently resident in the UK and if they are legally entitled to live in the UK. We ask that the pre-attendance form is completed and emailed to the Overseas Visitor team at the address below.
Alternatively this may be hand delivered or posted to the Overseas Visitor Team at:
Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital
Blackburn BB2 3HH
The Trust’s Overseas Visitor team are available to clarify patient status to free NHS treatment on 01254 734357 or email Overseas@elht.nhs.uk
Full details are also available on the NHS Choices website.
To make the process easier, you can now complete the pre-attendance form before you come into hospital.
