Below are a number of specific exercise routines for patients with Spinal issues.

These videos, should only be used when instructed by a trained medical professional to ensure you use the specific exercises, it will allow you (the patient) to improve the part of the body required for continued care.

Video 1 - Prone Lying. Use this exercise to help reduce acute onset back and leg pain. Pillows under your stomach can be added, if this position is too sore initially.

Video 2 - Prone Lying on Elbows. This is a progression on from Video 1 and is is used for the early management of lower back pain.

Video 3 - Repeated prone extensions. This is a progression from Video 1 and 2. Use this as a way of improving your back pain and associated leg pain. Stop if your leg pain worsens significantly.

Video 4 - Standing Extension - This is a progression on from Video 3. This is an exercise used for the management of lower back pain and associated leg pain in one or more of your legs.

Video 5 - Side glides in standing. Use this exercise only on the advice of your Physiotherapist.

Video 6 - Supine Knee Rolls - this is an exercise to increase or maintain the range of movement in your lumbar spine.

Video 7 - Supine knee to Chest. Use this exercise to help increase your movement at your hip and Lumbar spine

Video 8 - Standing Side Flexion - this is an exercise to increase or maintain the range of movement of your lumbar spine.

Video 9 - Core Muscle Activation. Use this exercise to help strengthen your lower back muscles, in order to help manage your back pain.

Video 10 - Lumbar Spine Neutral - This exercise is used to maintain the natural position of the lumbar spine also referred to as neutral lumbar spine.

Video 11 - Clam. Use this exercise to help strengthen your muscles which help control your hip and spine.

Video 12 - Single Knee Fall Out - This exercise is used to strengthen the stability muscles that support the spine.

Video 13 - Single Leg Stretch. Use this exercise to help strengthen your muscles that control your Lumbar spine.

Video 14 - Superman - This exercise is used to strengthen the stability muscles that support the spine.

Video 15 - Cervical Rotations. Use this exercise to increase or maintain your neck movements.

Video 16 - Cervical Side Flexion - This exercise is used to increase or maintain the range of movement in your neck.

Video 17 - Cervical Retractions in Sitting. Use this exercise as directed by your Physiotherapist only. If you have been shown this exercise and it makes your arm pain significantly worse, please stop.

Video 18 - Neck Stability in Lying - This exercise is used to strengthen stability muscles in your neck that help support the neck in day to day activities.

Video 19 - Neck Stability in Standing - This exercise is used to increase and strengthen the deep stability muscles that help to support the neck in day to day activities.

Video 20 - Thoracic Spine Rotations. Use this exercise as a way of improving or maintaining your upper back mobility.

Video 21 - Thoracic Side Flexion. Use this exercise as a way of improving or maintaining your upper back flexibility.

Video 22 - Thoracic Extension in Supine. This exercise is used to increase or maintain the range of movement in the middle part of the spine also referred to as the thoracic spine (upper back). Please note you will need a rolled up towel for this exercise.

Video 23 - Thoracic Extension over a Gym Ball. This is a progression exercise from Video 22. This is an exercise to help improve or maintain your upper back flexibility.
