This year’s Friends of Pendle Community Hospital Christmas Fayre raised a valuable £375 to benefit patients staying on the hospital’s three rehabilitation wards.

The annual community event, held inside the hospital’s Main Reception, was one not to miss with East Lancashire Hospitals Chief Executive Kevin McGee joining the crowds to enjoy four hours of activities.

Enthusiastic volunteers, hospital staff and local businesses offered their support with artisan stalls, coffee shop, book stall, teddy bear stall, Tombola and raffle to entertain patients, staff and visitors.

Kath Haworth, Chair of the Friends of Pendle Community Hospital, said:

“The Friends of Pendle Community Hospital Christmas Fayre is an important event in the hospital’s calendar.  Every penny of the £375 raised goes directly to the Friends of Pendle Community Hospital charitable fund which helps support the patients, visitors and staff at the hospital.”

“In particular, we’d like to thank local companies Schofields butchers, Bookers of BurnleyOddies in Nelson, Allsorts Nelson Market and Relish Sandwich Shop. Special thanks also goes to Pendle Hippodrome Youth Theatre who donated two tickets for their production of Annie (14-17 February).

“With the help of the hospital charity ELHT&Me, all the money raised goes to support the hospital wards and departments,” adds Kath Haworth.

“Thank you to everyone who supported the event and a Merry Christmas from everyone at Pendle Community Hospital”
