Just checking in again….
Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums in our ELHT family. I’m sure your day is being celebrated slightly differently than you have planned, but, I hope you enjoy it and manage to get some well-earned TLC. If you are in work – thank you.
The week continues to be different than any other I’ve ever experienced, but the immense gratitude I feel towards all our staff remains. I don’t think I have ever been more proud to be part of the NHS. I’m delighted that we will be temporarily joining forces with private hospitals to significantly increase the capacity and workforce to help us tackle COVID-19. I’m also hearing that there are thousands of people out there, including former staff, who want to join us and help out in any way they can. This is very welcome news and a significant antidote to the awful behaviour by some individuals which has seen supermarkets shelves stripped bare of essentials.
Rest assured, your safety, health and wellbeing is our priority and we are working on ways that we can help further to make your lives outside of (as well as inside) work a bit easier. Keep reading the briefings and announcements to stay up to date with developments.
