Found out you're pregnant?
You can now book to access our maternity service through this website. You no longer need to book an appointment with your GP to access the maternity service, unless you have existing health problems. (If you are pregnant and do have existing health problems, please inform your GP so that they can review any medications that you are taking).
You should expect to have your booking appointment at around 8 -10 weeks pregnant, or as soon as possible if you think that your pregnancy is further along.
Once you have confirmed your pregnancy and you are more than six weeks pregnant, please follow the simple steps below to register with the service:
Step 1 - Get your NHS number
Ensure you have your NHS number before filling in the form. If you don't know yours, click here to get it.
Step 2 - Check your dates
It is important to know the first date of your last menstrual period to ensure you have your booking appointment in time for important screening tests. If you are unsure, please provide a date that is as close as possible.

Step 3 - Complete the registration form below (if you are more than six weeks pregnant)
If the link above is broken, or you receive an error message, don't worry. Try again in a couple of hours or the following day - the Badgernet platform may be experiencing some minor technical issues.
What happens next?
Once you have completed the booking form, a booking appointment will be generated and sent to you on an email. This email will also include information on how to access your BadgerNotes, your personal digital record, and a link to provide your pre-booking information.
As a reminder, you should expect to have your booking appointment at around 8 -10 weeks pregnant, or as soon as possible if you think that your pregnancy is further along. Make sure you check your junk folder for your booking appointment email if it hasn't arrived as expected.
Women who do not have digital access will be able to telephone the service to register for their pregnancy care.
Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust introduced paperless maternity notes on 9 November, 2021. We now use BadgerNet Maternity and Badger Notes, electronic systems aimed at giving mothers more control of their pregnancy records and care notes.
