Community Equipment Service

The East Lancashire Community Equipment Service (ELCES) is a Support Service which procures, delivers, collects and recycles items of nursing equipment and aids to daily living which have been prescribed by clinicians for clients living within the East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen boundaries for Health and Social care.

The first NHS community equipment service to be accredited by the Community Equipment Code of Practice Scheme (CECOPS), the service delivered and collected more than 40,000 items in 2014, achieving a recycle rate of 75 per cent.

In addition to its CECOPS and BSI 9001:2008 achievements, the East Lancashire Community Equipment Service is also a member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association.
